The Pivot
The Pivot
This project started with a simple prompt: choose a cereal brand. I picked Froot Loops almost on a whim, and began designing. My initial inspiration came from modern, pop-art styles.
But, as I dug into the brand's history, something clicked. The current version of Froot Loops is bold and loud. But the version that actually lives in people's memories? That's the retro, nostalgic, sentimental one. The one with the softer colors and the hand-drawn charm.
So I threw out my original direction and started over.

Every element, from the custom banner graphics to the recipe card layouts, was designed and built from scratch. No templates. No stock layouts. Just a retro vision, executed.

Vintage Toucan Sam: An older version of the mascot that ties the redesign back to the brand's roots. Softer, friendlier, more nostalgic.

Trust Your Instincts!
Froot Loops was a project where I learned to trust a creative instinct, commit to a vision, and build something that feels genuinely cohesive. That's the kind of thinking I carry into everything I design. Throwing out my original concept felt dautning. But following my instincts toward the retro direction led to a design that actually felt true to the brand's emotional core.
Cohesion is everything. Three pages, dozens of custom assets, one visual language. The challenge wasn't making each page look good individually. It was making them feel like they belonged together.
